Maritime Security Services

Vessel Security Teams

FocusPoint offers both armed and unarmed security personnel to the maritime sector. All personnel undergo rigorous vetting, receive routine medical checks and on-going training specific to on-board vessel security to deter, detect, delay, deny and respond to piracy. All personnel are STCW 95 certified, trained medical first responders and come from elite naval and special forces units. We take a risk-based approach to determining how many operatives are assigned to a vessel during each run. We always consider the proposed route and perceived risk, piracy mapping and tracking, vessel size (to include freeboard height), type, cargo and average speed. All teams are coordinated and routes are monitored from our GSOC in Cape Town, South Africa.

Vessel Security Assessment & Plans

FocusPoint works closely with owners and operators to conduct vessel security assessments (VSA) and develop vessel security plans (VSP) in accordance with International Maritime Standards, the ISPS code and USCG. Additionally, we have the necessary experience and wherewithal to conduct gap analysis of existing plans and support the required review process.

Gas & Oil Platform (GOPLAT) Security

FocusPoint is one of the few companies in the commercial sector with personnel trained in GOPLAT security. Our veteran port security specialists from the U.S. Coast Guard and Navy Special Warfare Units have years of experience responding to and securing gas and oil platforms in hostile environments. GOPLAT Teams are available for deployment to secure assets globally.

Port Security Assessments

In accordance with current regulation and best practice, FocusPoint offers organizations assistance in compliance with Port Security mandates and the on-going assessment process. Consultants are available for deployment to assist in conducting threat and vulnerability assessments of ports in emerging markets to determine exploitable weaknesses and challenges of utilizing the port for planned operations.

We leverage industry best practice, U.S. protective doctrine and years of proven experience to develop and execute personal security details for corporate clients, media figures, high net-worth individuals and their families. As CP specialists, we address every aspect of the protective mission from in-depth advance planning, route analysis and threat assessment to establish the appropriate protective posture; to surveillance, counter-surveillance and counter-assault teams in high risk environments when necessary.

Precious Cargo Transportation

FocusPoint specializes in the provision of security services for remote locations. Integrated solutions include targeted assessments of temporary or long-term remote sites; development of site security, crisis response & evacuation plans; acquisition and management of static security force; vehicle/convoy security to and from the remote site; on-going threat assessment and intelligence related to the remote operating environment.
